Eagles at Ottawa National Wildlife Preserve
With seven eagles nests and about that many pairs, the wildlife preserve offers an opportunity to see an eagle or two (or more) at each visit. Patience, binoculars, and a keen are assets to bring along. The preserve, about 40 minutes west of Marblehead, is a great area for birders, especially in the Spring. Eagles are best spotted when the leaves are down, however, in late Fall or Winter. Birding is an outdoor sport, so wrap up if you come to Northern Ohio in the Winter. Keep an eye out for the bus tours that are run by the Wildlife area, as you are more likely to see these great birds with a guide than on your own.
