Commercial Fishing off Marblehead

Every Fall some fishing nets come out that were not there during the summer. Pleasure boats are everywhere in the summer, so putting more nets out after Labor Day is best for everyone. The nets can be fairly close to shore as one can see since the video was taken from shore a little South of the lighthouse. The men work hard every day, in good and bad weather, to bring in their catch.

The Fall can be a great time to witness bird migrations in the Marblehead peninsula. Flocks of geese, cormorants, blackbirds, and many others will appear overhead, moving back and forth by the 100s or even thousands.
